WHO IS BIOSCIENCE ASSOCIATION MANITOBA (BAM)

Bioscience Association Manitoba (BAM) is a not-for-profit industry association that enables commercial success for Manitoba’s bioscience companies by acting as a catalyst for innovation, expanding the sector’s skills and workforce development, and leading with one unified voice to create local and global engagement.

What is bioscience it is in the innovation the heals, feeds and fuel the world. It is innovation in health, agriculture and clean technology. It helps us develop medicines that cure diseases, grow food more efficiently and combat climate change.

The sector has over 14,000 jobs in Manitoba and generates one of Manitoba’s leading exports medicine.

WHAT IS HEALTH BIOTECH

The Health Biotech sector consists of companies developing and commercializing innovations that allow for the early identification, prevention and/or treatment of illness and disease. The Health Biotech sector traditionally focuses on treatments, diagnostics, and therapeutics. It now includes functional (healthier for you) foods and ingredients, and natural health products.

Health Biotech companies work in the areas of healthy food and ingredients, medicaments, medical technology and digital health.
