Description
Load livestock, making sure animals are handled safely during loading and unloading and that transport equipment is secure. Transport animals to farms, markets, or processing facilities, driving long or short distances and monitoring during the trip. Check animals during transit for signs of distress or illness, take care of their welfare (feeding, watering, comfort). Keep vehicle clean and sanitized between loads to prevent disease spread and follow biosecurity procedures. Inspect the truck before, during and after trips -- tires, brakes, lights, air systems to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records such as logbooks, routes, animal counts, health observations and delivery paperwork. Communicate with dispatch, farm or livestock handlers and others to coordinate schedules, deliveries and any issues along the way. Salary: $31.00/hr Education Requirements: Completion of secondary school; Driver's License (Class 1/A/1F); Air Brakes Endorsement Essential Skills: Report Writing - Accident or incident reports; Trip reports; Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip); Driver logbook.
