Cook - AFV Kitchen Inc. AFV Kitchen, located in the St. Boniface area of Winnipeg, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare traditional West African dishes, maintain high food-quality standards, and ensure a clean and safe work environment. We are looking for someone who values teamwork, consistency, and takes pride in creating authentic, flavourful meals for our customers.
Duties
• Prepare and cook traditional West African dishes according to company recipes and standards
• Maintain food quality, presentation, and portion consistency at all times
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment
• Follow food-safety and hygiene procedures at all times
• Assist with catering and special events as required
• Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth daily operations
Qualifications
• Secondary-school diploma required
• Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen or cooking experience required
• Prior experience in a restaurant or catering environment preferred
• Knowledge of West African cuisine considered an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food-safety standards
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
