Duties
Perform essential manual tasks to support construction projects, including site preparation, cleaning, material handling, and assisting skilled tradespeople. They work on residential, commercial, and industrial sites, often operating tools, erecting scaffolding, digging trenches, and ensuring safety compliance. May involve cleaning debris, removing hazardous materials, and preparing sites for daily activities, loading, unloading, and moving materials like concrete, asphalt, and timber around the site, assisting carpenters, masons, roofers, and heavy equipment operators with tasks such as holding materials, aligning pipes, or cleaning tools, using power tools and machinery such as jackhammers, concrete mixers, drills, and compactors, erecting and dismantling scaffolding, ramps, and concrete forms and following safety protocols, erecting barricades, and sometimes directing traffic near work zones.
Qualifications
Short-term on-the-job training with no formal education necessary.
