NOC: 65201 Job Title: Food Counter Attendant We are currently seeking a friendly and dependable Food Counter Attendant to join our team at Taco Time. In this role, you will take customer orders, prepare and assemble menu items, process payments, and help maintain a clean and welcoming service area. You will play an important part in providing fast, accurate, and courteous service to every customer.
Duties
- Take customer orders, serve food at counters or buffet tables, and package takeout orders.
- Prepare simple food items by washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, trimming, heating, portioning, and wrapping ingredients using manual and electrical appliances.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other designated storage areas.
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars, replenish condiments and serving supplies, and record the quantities of food used.
- Set tables, deliver clean dishes and flatware to serving areas, clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, and load bus pans.
- Wash dishes, glassware, and flatware by hand or dishwasher, scour pots and pans, and return clean items to storage.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, cupboards, appliances, equipment, dishwasher mats, carts, and waste-disposal units.
- Handle and store cleaning products safely, remove kitchen garbage and trash, and sharpen kitchen knives as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, customer service, or a fast-food environment is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders, preparing food, and processing payments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and safely perform routine food preparation and cleaning tasks.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
