Welcome to Insurance Institute of Manitoba – Who We Are

The Insurance Institute of Canada was established as a not-for-profit organization in 1899. It now serves more than 41,000 members across Canada through 19 volunteer-driven provincial institutes and chapters. The Institute sets professional standards for the industry through education programs that lead to a range of accreditations, including the internationally recognized Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designations.

Insurance Career Connections is a career awareness program from the Institute aimed at encouraging young adults and career seekers to pursue one of the many skilled professions available in the insurance industry. To help promote insurance as a stable and vital industry, we also work to enhance the understanding of insurance and explain its role in society. Join us to learn about careers within the property and casualty insurance industry.

This event will cover:

• An overview of the property and casualty insurance industry in Canada
• Possible roles and career paths
• Licensing and education requirements
• Tips for an insurance resume, networking and job search
• Possible guest speaker from a local employer- either an HR professional or someone who was a newcomer and is now working in the industry
• Q and A
