As the first and last point of contact for our customers, you’ll play an important role in creating a positive shopping experience.
Duties
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service at checkout
- Accurately scan, price, and process purchases using the point-of-sale (POS) system
- Handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions with accuracy and responsibility
- Assist customers with bagging items and addressing inquiries in a courteous manner
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and well-stocked checkout area
- Verify the age of the customers, if required
- Support the team with store duties as needed (stocking shelves, light cleaning, etc.)
- Follow all store policies, including health and safety guidelines
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous retail or cashier experience is an asset (but we’re happy to train the right person)
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Dependable, punctual, and customer-service focused
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting light to moderate items
