Entrepreneurs-Opportunity: Bilingual cook (French & English)
- Under the supervision of the manager, the cook works in accordance with policies and procedures to coordinate the meal program for seniors.
Duties
- Plan nutritious meals.
- Prepare meals and ensure that they are served in a safe and courteous manner.
- Submit monthly menus.
- Keep kitchen clean.
- Purchase all provisions and supplies related to the meal program.
- Train volunteers in meal program and food safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Current food handler’s certificate.
- Oral and written communication in French and English preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to organize a variety of meals.
- Knowledge of basic nutrition, dietary needs and food preparation for the elderly.
- Experience preparing food for a large group.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with volunteers.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle.
