1st to 4th Level Apprentice Electricians Description: Global Electric Ltd. is a local family owned and operated company in Winnipeg founded in 1994. Opportunity: We're looking for 1st to 4th YEAR APPRENTICE ELECTRICIANS who are self-motivated, hard-working, responsible and looking to expand their knowledge and experience. The successful candidate will have, willingness to learn and develop, good written and verbal communication skills, aptitude for problem-solving and planning, great attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Apprentice Electricians possess the full range of knowledge required to install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, lighting, power sources and communications. Duties
1st and 2nd Level Responsibilities:
- Ability to complete tasks properly from oral or written instructions.
- Ability to learn and understand diagrams, blueprints.
- Become familiar with the use of current electrical measuring instruments, devices, and equipment.
- Install and bend electrical conduit
- Install electrical wiring in commercial/industrial buildings, such as installing cable tray, pulling cables, and terminating final connections on de-energized
- wires.
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision from diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and oral or written instructions.
- Proven diagnostic skills and thoroughly familiar with the use of current electrical measuring instruments, devices, and equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and technical specification documents.
- Assist contractors with repairs and installations by performing duties during all phases of construction.
- Install, replace, repair, maintain, troubleshoot and test electrical fixtures, controls, distribution equipment and circuits
- Install electrical wiring in commercial/industrial buildings, such as installing cable tray, conduit bending, pulling cables, and terminating final connections on de-energized wires.
- Installing data lines and intercom systems.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate must haves:
- Prior experience with the electrical trade. **MUST BE A REGISTERED APPRENTICE**
- Willing to learn industry products, materials, practices, and standards
- Driver license (class 5)
- Own hand tools and basic power tools
- Organization Skills
- Self Motivated
- Enthusiasm to learning and being a part of a positive team atmosphere
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Aptitude for problem-solving and planning
- Positive attitude towards safety with the ability to work collaboratively
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of all mentioned duties.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Work minimum 8 hours a day.
- Work in all weather conditions.
