African Foodways Market Limited is seeking a reliable and organized Food Store Supervisor / Retail Sales Supervisor to support the day-to-day operations of our specialty grocery store in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will assist in supervising staff, supporting customer service operations, maintaining inventory, and helping ensure the store operates efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
This is a permanent full-time position located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.Duties
Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff • Assign sales workers to duties • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff • Order merchandise and monitor inventory levels • Authorize return of merchandise when required • Establish staff work schedules • Assist customers and support daily sales activities • Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and supply shortages • Organize and maintain inventory records • Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace procedures • Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the store
Qualifications
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience • 2 years to less than 3 years of related retail or supervisory experience • English language ability required • Ability to work efficiently in a busy retail environment • Strong organizational and communication skills • Dependable and team-oriented approach to work • Experience working with specialty or ethnic grocery products is an asset • Familiarity with international food items and customer preferences is an asset • Experience in retail environments involving imported or culturally specific goods is an asset
