Position: Long-Haul Truck Driver
Location: Stony Mountain, Manitoba
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Wage: $31.50 per hour
Hours: 50–60 hours per week

Duties
Job Duties
- Operate and drive Class 1 tractor-trailer units to transport goods on long-haul and international routes.
- Operate refrigerated (reefer) tractor-trailer equipment.
- Plan and adjust routes using GPS and other navigation systems.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and transported safely.
- Complete and maintain bills of lading, driver logbooks and other required transportation documents.
- Record hours of service, mileage, fuel consumption and cargo information.
- Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, deliveries and changing road conditions.
- Obtain permits and other documentation required for international transportation.
- Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations.
- Work independently or as part of a two-person driving team or convoy.
- Comply with all applicable transportation, safety and hours-of-service regulations.
Qualifications
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 1–2 years of experience as a truck driver.
- Valid Class 1/A driver's licence.
- Valid Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
- Experience operating refrigerated tractor-trailer units.
- Previous long-haul trucking experience.
- Knowledge of bills of lading and driver logbooks.
- Ability to complete vehicle inspections and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to use GPS, navigation systems and communication equipment.
- Ability to travel frequently and work on the road for extended periods.
- Good judgment, patience and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check and provide a satisfactory driver's abstract.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (9 kg).
- English language proficiency.
