Job Title: Restaurant Manager (NOC: 60030) About the Job Position Summary Guac Mexi Grill is seeking a responsible and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant in Thompson, Manitoba. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing restaurant operations, supervising staff, maintaining service and food quality standards, controlling operating costs, and ensuring a positive experience for customers. The Restaurant Manager will provide leadership to the restaurant team and ensure that the establishment operates efficiently while meeting company standards for customer service, cleanliness, food safety, and overall performance.
Duties
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of the restaurant.
- Manage restaurant staff and coordinate employee work schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
- Recruit, train, supervise and provide guidance to restaurant employees.
- Monitor staff performance and ensure employees follow established restaurant policies, procedures and service standards.
- Ensure customers receive timely, professional and courteous service.
- Respond to customer concerns, complaints and service issues and take appropriate steps to resolve them.
- Monitor food preparation, presentation, service quality and portion standards.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, workplace safety and cleanliness requirements.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate the ordering of food, beverages, supplies and other restaurant materials.
- Monitor operating expenses, food costs, labour costs and other restaurant expenditures.
- Review sales and operational information and assist with establishing procedures to improve efficiency and restaurant performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors regarding restaurant products, supplies and deliveries.
- Participate in developing and implementing restaurant policies, procedures and operational standards.
- Ensure restaurant equipment, dining areas, food preparation areas and storage areas are properly maintained.
- Maintain appropriate records relating to staffing, inventory, sales, expenses and restaurant operations.
- Support promotional activities and initiatives designed to attract and retain customers.
- Ensure the restaurant complies with applicable health, safety and operational requirements.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- College or other post-secondary education in hospitality management, food service management, business administration or a related field is considered an asset.
- 3 to 5 years of previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant, food service or hospitality environment is required.
- Strong leadership and staff-management skills.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple operational responsibilities in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to monitor inventory, operating expenses and restaurant performance.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by restaurant operations.
